Meet Mr. Brazelton
Thank you very much for visiting our class website! I am extremely excited to be a part of the Harmon family. I consider it a great responsibility and privilege to be a part of your child's learning. My goal is to have your child progress academically, socially, and to gain confidence in themselves as they become more experienced learners. We will be doing a lot of work in 5th grade, but we will also have a lot of fun. I attempt to make each and every lesson unique and entertaining so that your child looks forward to each school day. I anticipate a very exciting school year! If you have any questions regarding the progress of your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Education:
I graduated from Oakland University in December 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in the Science of Elementary Education. I have also obtained a Master's Degree of Teaching from Marygrove College with a focus on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. This is my 9th year teaching in Lakeview Public Schools.
The Basics:
In addition to teaching- I have a few other passions. I absolutely love sports! I grew up playing ice hockey, and watching the Detroit Red Wings is one of my favorite things to do. I also follow the Detroit Lions and Tigers very closely. I also am a huge music fan. I enjoy listening to all types of music and I enjoy writing and playing songs with my friends. I love using music in the classroom and have created many songs (sung to beat of popular radio tunes) that correspond with many different areas of curriculum. In my spare time I love spending time with my wife and daughter, playing hockey, exercising, going boating, playing the guitar, singing, traveling to new places, and laughing at comedy movies.
